From today Stamford Inter Private University Football Tournament has begun. With the help of Bangladesh Football federation, "Auritro" the first sports event management organization in Bangladesh has made this event happen. This event will last for 13 days. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by the Honorable State Minister of Education Mr. Ehsanul Haque Milon, MP. The President of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), Mr. S. A. Sultan MP, and the Pro Vice Chancellor of the Stamford University, Bangladesh, Mr. Prof. Dr. Jamal Uddin Ahmed were the special guests in this inauguration ceremony.

In the opening speech, Honorable State Minister of Education Mr. Ehsanul Haque Milon, MP, said, "The students of the private universities are just trapped with studies and studies – They have just proven this wrong! I believe that, with these sorts of events the private universities will boost the standard of sports of this country." The minister thanked "Auritro" for organizing such an innovative event.

The inaugural match took place at 3:30 pm local time and in this match Northern University of Bangladesh faced Gono University . And the match ended goal less and was drawn. In this match the 'man of the match' was awarded to Salvin-Ul-Alam, the number one jersey player, the goalkeeper of Northern University of Bangladesh.
